Yesterday, as I was running out to my car, in my gated community garage, late for work, I first noticed Police cars in the area. This is quite strange, so thinking, “those poor OTHER folks… wonder what happened to them…”
Sure enough, when I got to my car, I realized why the Police were on the scene. My window was shattered, and glass, mixed with all the articles in my center console were strewn about the front of my car. Apparently someone did a smash-n-grab session in our garage, hitting approximately 6 vehicles.
The only thing they stole from my car (and the only thing even remotely valuable) was my old Ipod Nano. Suckers, there is no way they can get any money from that.
But that really wasn’t the worse part. While I certainly don’t like the idea of some punk kids smashing windows and stealing stuff, what I really hate is the aftermath. The clean-up, the scheduling of auto repairs, the confusion with the insurance company… All of that.
I’m still trying to get someone out to put a window in my car, all the while I’m hoping it doesn’t rain. Thats way more frustrating than losing an Ipod.

As most of you know, I’ve been flying kites for quite a long time. I’ve flown at Sea World, around cruise ships, and even in Tienanmen Square in China. For the past 6 years, I’ve been running a kiting website called Kitestop.com.
When I started, it was predominately an e-mag/forum site… then I tried to monetize it by selling kites. I even opened a “brick and mortar” shop in Cocoa, FL, but had to close it when I got divorced.
Anyway, I was sitting at home one day and realized that it was a pretty dumb idea to not do something I really enjoyed, so I sat down to re-design the online shop for Kitestop.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve finally completed building out the shop and it is now available at : www.kitestop.com
I’ve added a subscription newsletter, a community forum, and have even been blogging. Please stop by and take a look (even better would be to buy something there). Kiteflying videos and an interactive game are in the works.

My younger brother Michael has now taken the title of “Most Educated Person” in my family.
This weekend, he finally graduated from the University of Florida’s MBA program.
As I watched him walk across the stage to accept his diploma, I finally realized how much effort and dedication it took for him to complete this two-year MBA program while working full-time and sacrificing his weekends and evenings.
I am extremely proud of him.

For some reason lately, I haven’t had the urge to put pen to paper (er… fingers to keyboard in this internet age).. Sometimes, I can go days/weeks/months without any desire to write.. then BOOM, I’ll go on a creative spurt and write a bunch of articles.
I’ve been on a writing drought for awhile now, and I’m finally forcing myself to post an entry today.
Blogging kind of sucks sometimes, because you write and write, not knowing if anyone is actually reading it. Sure, I know my folks get on here occasionally (because if I post something about my life, they call to check up)… But aside from family members, its hard to say if anyone even gets on here.
I guess thats the mark of a good blogger…. to blog, regardless of visitors. To get online every day, and express yourself without anyone being there to watch.

As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been pretty bad about posting… But in my defense, I haven’t had an internet connection at my new home for over a month. Sure, I had access at work, or through my cellphone, but …. well… whatever.

Well, I finally made it back to the doctor today. My weight hasn’t changed (233), my thyroid is right where it is supposed to be (6.1) and my blood pressure was at 120/80.. My cholesteral was borderline high (197) but my blood fats were still high (305)…(both are down about 20 points since last visit)..
I’m not quite sure what it is that I’m eating that is causing my blood fats to spike, but my doctor has prescribed some fish oil pills to reduce the level of fats in my blood. I’ll let you know if they work.

Well, there goes another year… Welcome 2008. This is the year of the Rat for any of you knowledgable about Chinese Astrology… I’m not quite sure what that means for the coming year… but I thought you should know anyway.
2007 was a very disruptive year for me… It was full of changes, that I obviously wasn’t even clued into last year.
