Tiger Woods upset a lot of people in the hockey world a few weeks back when asked about who he was rooting for in the Stanley Cup finals, by saying, “I don’t really care. Let’s talk about the Dodgers. I don’t think anybody really watches hockey anymore.”

Yesterday, as I was running out to my car, in my gated community garage, late for work, I first noticed Police cars in the area. This is quite strange, so thinking, “those poor OTHER folks… wonder what happened to them…”
Sure enough, when I got to my car, I realized why the Police were on the scene. My window was shattered, and glass, mixed with all the articles in my center console were strewn about the front of my car. Apparently someone did a smash-n-grab session in our garage, hitting approximately 6 vehicles.
The only thing they stole from my car (and the only thing even remotely valuable) was my old Ipod Nano. Suckers, there is no way they can get any money from that.
But that really wasn’t the worse part. While I certainly don’t like the idea of some punk kids smashing windows and stealing stuff, what I really hate is the aftermath. The clean-up, the scheduling of auto repairs, the confusion with the insurance company… All of that.
I’m still trying to get someone out to put a window in my car, all the while I’m hoping it doesn’t rain. Thats way more frustrating than losing an Ipod.

My younger brother Michael has now taken the title of “Most Educated Person” in my family.
This weekend, he finally graduated from the University of Florida’s MBA program.
As I watched him walk across the stage to accept his diploma, I finally realized how much effort and dedication it took for him to complete this two-year MBA program while working full-time and sacrificing his weekends and evenings.
I am extremely proud of him.

For some reason lately, I haven’t had the urge to put pen to paper (er… fingers to keyboard in this internet age).. Sometimes, I can go days/weeks/months without any desire to write.. then BOOM, I’ll go on a creative spurt and write a bunch of articles.
I’ve been on a writing drought for awhile now, and I’m finally forcing myself to post an entry today.
Blogging kind of sucks sometimes, because you write and write, not knowing if anyone is actually reading it. Sure, I know my folks get on here occasionally (because if I post something about my life, they call to check up)… But aside from family members, its hard to say if anyone even gets on here.
I guess thats the mark of a good blogger…. to blog, regardless of visitors. To get online every day, and express yourself without anyone being there to watch.

Well, I finally made it back to the doctor today. My weight hasn’t changed (233), my thyroid is right where it is supposed to be (6.1) and my blood pressure was at 120/80.. My cholesteral was borderline high (197) but my blood fats were still high (305)…(both are down about 20 points since last visit)..
I’m not quite sure what it is that I’m eating that is causing my blood fats to spike, but my doctor has prescribed some fish oil pills to reduce the level of fats in my blood. I’ll let you know if they work.

The title says it all… after what I would consider a very successful contest, I have selected a winner of our logo contest. Congratulations go out to Janice, who submitted the winning logo. This talented artist did a great job of putting together a logo that will truly represent this blog as we move forward.
We had over 25 unique entries to our contest, and it really was a debate over which one to choose. I actually did an informal poll of all my advertising and design industry friends, and the majority picked this logo as the best. We all thought that it was versatile and encapsulated my blog the best.
Now that I have a logo to rally behind, the real work will have to begin. Along with the continuing writing duties I have, I’m going to have to come up with a new website design to compliment my great logo.

This is for all the designers that might stumble upon my humble blog. I am holding a contest over at Sitepoint to design a logo to be used on this blog. This should be a completely original design and contain NO copyrighted imagery or clip-art. This is a contest of originality and creativity.
For all the details and to submit your entry, please visit: http://contests.sitepoint.com/contests/3521
This contest ends on Monday, October 8. So please keep that in mind as you prepare your entries. You can also submit preliminary designs to Sitepoint prior to that deadline, and I’ll try to provide my feedback as soon as possible.
BEWARE: I am a fairly harsh critic, but I will aways try to be helpful.

I’ve been attempting to do a few things to get some viewership on to this blog. Its one thing to blog in the dark, hoping someone will stumble upon my blog, and take an interest. Unfortunately, this isn’t how things are done on the internet. With millions of bloggers out there, it really is up to me to drive traffic to my own blog. Much like other things in life, nobody is going to do it for you, its up to you to make things happen.
You will notice that I’ve added Digg buttons on each of my postings. If you like an article or item that I’ve posted, please Digg it. Its free and easy, and might get a few more people to come check out my site.
I’ve also added a link to my feed on the right hand side. Now you can view my blog posts in your favorite newsreader. While I’d certainly prefer that you come visit and comment on my posts, I recognize that many people use newsreaders to get their latest news… so I’ve made it easy for you to get my postings when they are posted.
Thanks for the help.
