This is possibly the best video ever on YouTube… And everyone must agree because it has 28,702,606 views. You just can’t plan this kind of thing… believe me, if I could, I would have taped my kids doing something like that..
Yesterday, as I was running out to my car, in my gated community garage, late for work, I first noticed Police cars in the area. This is quite strange, so thinking, “those poor OTHER folks… wonder what happened to them…”
Sure enough, when I got to my car, I realized why the Police were on the scene. My window was shattered, and glass, mixed with all the articles in my center console were strewn about the front of my car. Apparently someone did a smash-n-grab session in our garage, hitting approximately 6 vehicles.
The only thing they stole from my car (and the only thing even remotely valuable) was my old Ipod Nano. Suckers, there is no way they can get any money from that.
But that really wasn’t the worse part. While I certainly don’t like the idea of some punk kids smashing windows and stealing stuff, what I really hate is the aftermath. The clean-up, the scheduling of auto repairs, the confusion with the insurance company… All of that.
I’m still trying to get someone out to put a window in my car, all the while I’m hoping it doesn’t rain. Thats way more frustrating than losing an Ipod.
As most of you know, I’ve been flying kites for quite a long time. I’ve flown at Sea World, around cruise ships, and even in Tienanmen Square in China. For the past 6 years, I’ve been running a kiting website called Kitestop.com.
When I started, it was predominately an e-mag/forum site… then I tried to monetize it by selling kites. I even opened a “brick and mortar” shop in Cocoa, FL, but had to close it when I got divorced.
Anyway, I was sitting at home one day and realized that it was a pretty dumb idea to not do something I really enjoyed, so I sat down to re-design the online shop for Kitestop.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve finally completed building out the shop and it is now available at : www.kitestop.com
I’ve added a subscription newsletter, a community forum, and have even been blogging. Please stop by and take a look (even better would be to buy something there). Kiteflying videos and an interactive game are in the works.
