“… due to an accident not involving the train.”
That was the announcement that was heard about an hour ago while waiting for the evening train. I’m currently waiting along with probably 50-75 other commuters as we wait for word on when the train will arrive.
Unfortunately, there are no train officials here to give us a clue as to what kind of accident has happened, but the speculation is that there is some sort of car accident involving the tracks.
Of course that is just speculation based on nothing more that the message we heard earlier. Last time the train was delayed this long, an airplane had crashed on the tracks, and we had to wait for the tracks to be cleared.
So, really it could be anything. We’ll probably never know what caused the train delay, but I sure hope its something more exciting than a common fender-bender.
UPDATE: The southbound train finally arrived at 6:46PM but because of signal problems, we could only go 15 miles per hour. That we until we pulled into next station, where we were informed that someone on the train needed medical assistance, and we would have to wait for the ambulance to come. At 8:06PM we finally left the station, and I made it home at 8:46PM. So far this was my all-time longest train ride.
So I am treating myself to some Pollo Tropical tostones, along with my chicken and vegetable rice!
