I’m currently sitting at the Miami International Airport waiting for my son to arrive from Indiana. He was scheduled to arrive at 6:17pm but its 7:30pm and i am still sitting at the gate waiting for his plane to arrive.
So, what do I do? I blog about it using my cellphone!
I got out of work early today so that i would be sure to get through traffic and airport security in time to meet my son at the gate. im not exactly sure what would happen if I didn’t show up on time, but this isnt quite the time to test.
I ended up cruising through traffic and sailed through security with more than 2 hours to spare. so… what to do?
Luckily Miami Airport is filled with numerous shops and eateries throughout the ticketing concourse, so i spent about an hour and a half wandering through the airport version of Brookstone, Borders, and various specialty stores. Just when i thought my time at the airport was nearing completion, I recieve a phone call from Airtran telling me that my son’s flight would be delayed another two hours.
well, what now?
I had already been through every shop on the concourse, and as much as i like people watching, i had my fill of watching little kids getting chased around by their mothers.
I decided to try out a cuban eatery that was located near the security gate. after scarfing down a huge plate of ropa vieja and a diet coke, i made my way out to the gate, where i am currently trying to ignore all the complaining from everyone that are waiting. apparently my son’s plane is bound for chicago once it lands.
Hopefully my son arrives soon, I dont know how much obnoxious Chicagoains I can take.
